The Holland Land Office Museum will host a book signing for the Bills Are Due by Attica author, Rob Thompson.  The book is a candid look at Western New York's favorite football team, the Buffalo Bills.  The book is full of personal interviews with the Bills greats, including Jack Kemp, Billy Shaw, Fred Smerlas and Frank Reich.  There are interviews with 14 ex-Bills in all.  Scheduled to appear with Thompson that night are two of the players featured in the book and former Bills, J.D. 2nd Annual Mendon Station Festival

Horses, horses everywhere with exciting equestrian exhibitions and events, Irish dancers, Honeoye Falls-Lima Schools Scholastic Art Show, the 4th annual parade of pets sporting costumes, pony and miniature train rides highlight this year's annual festival.  It is presented by the Mendon Foundation and features musical entertainment for the whole family, over 30 arts and craft vendors selling local photography, handmade purses, jewelry, pottery and many other unique items.  Returning this year will be the musical group "The Bob Squad."  Visitors can try their hand at robotic games of skill or take a wagon ride along the scenic Lehigh Valley Trail.  A variety of food vendors will feature hand-spun maple sugar cotton candy, homemade lemonade, premium hamburgers and hot dogs, chicken BBQ and other varieties of food.  Admission and parking are free.  Click here for more information, or call (585) 738-5405.

A "Musical Revue"

National Grandparent's Day Celebration

12th Annual River Challenge Outrigger Canoe Sprints

E. Bloomfield Historical Society Sept. Program

Norm Merrick and his friend, Jimmy Tilden, launched their 17 foot canoe about 150 miles north of Fairbanks, Alaska for a 750 mile trip on the Yukon River to Saint Mary's, Alaska near the Bering Strait.  The trip lasted 30 days and Norm will describe the people they encountered on the way, including the Inuit and other Native American tribes.  He will also discuss "reading the river" and other challenges they overcame along the way.  Norm will share this unique adventure through his many stories and beautiful photos.  Admission is free, and donations are accepted.  Click here for more information.
